DESCRIPTION:
G40 long link chain is commonly used in mooring lines due to its strength and durability.
Attach Anchor: G40 long link chain is usually attached to the anchor at one end. The chain provides a strong and secure connection between the anchor and the mooring line, ensuring the anchor remains in place and provides a point of stability for the vessel.
Increased Weight and Stability: The weight of the G40 long-link chain helps provide stability and reduce load on the mooring line. The chains are usually submerged beneath the water's surface, increasing resistance to waves and currents and preventing excessive stress on the mooring system.
Prevent Wear and Tear: Rough surfaces on rocks, seabed or docks can cause wear and tear on mooring lines. By connecting a length of G40 long link chain between the mooring line and anchor, it acts as a sacrificial component, protecting the mooring line from direct contact with wear surfaces.
