Double Braided Polyester Rope For Marine PV Mooring Delivery

Marine floating photovoltaic mooring refers to a system for anchoring and securing floating solar panels, also known as photovoltaic (PV) modules, in a marine environment. It is a solution for installing solar panels on bodies of water such as lakes, ponds, reservoirs and even oceans where traditional ground-mounted or rooftop solar installations may not be feasible or practical.


Offshore floating photovoltaic mooring systems typically consist of several components:


Floating Structures: These are platforms or pontoons designed to support and float PV modules on the water. They are usually made of durable materials that can withstand water exposure and weather conditions.


Anchorage System: In order to hold the floating structure in place, an anchorage system is required. This may include anchor lines, chains or cables attached to the floating structure and anchored to the sea or lake bed. Anchors provide stability and prevent floating PV arrays from moving or drifting.


Mooring lines: These are ropes or cables that connect a floating structure to an anchoring system. Mooring lines help maintain the position and alignment of solar panels, ensuring they are correctly oriented towards the sun to maximize energy production.


In this Marine PV mooring project, we choose double braided polyester ropes with PU coated, considering it’s stable chemical performance, good abrasion, high strength and good elongation rate, which is suitable for long terms mooring system. Double braided Jacket makes its more wear-resistant and sand-proof. 


All ropes are spliced with thimbles and master links at both ends, which will be connected with the lower long link mooring chains to anchors and the upper to floating structure. One end which will be used for connecting sea surface floating structure are adopted Stainless Steel SS316 thimble and SS316 forged master link to increase corrosion resistance.
