Tuna Farming Anchor, Chains and Fittings Delivery

2018-10-10

Tuna farming mooring components typically include:

Anchor: A weight or object deployed on the ocean floor to provide stability and secure a mooring system. Plough anchor or stingray anchor are commonly used.

Chain: A strong, durable chain connecting an anchor to a buoy or flotation device. Stud link anchor chain or Open link chain are decided based on proof load and breaking load.

Ropes: A high-strength rope or cord that connects the buoy to the anchor, providing flexibility, movement, and tension management. Rope assembly with thimble spliced at the end are widely used to have easy and safety connection.

Buoy or flotation device: Used to support a mooring system and keep it afloat on the water. They are selected based on the buoyancy and size required to support the weight of the system. Foamed PE buoys are widely used since it has light weight and good buoyancy.

Swivels and Shackles: These components allow the mooring system to rotate and move, thereby reducing stress on the anchor and line. Swivel can be rotational to reduce the stress of system. Bolted type safety pin shackles are widely used since it is more safety for permanent mooring.

Mooring line: Used to secure tuna culture cages or pens to the mooring system. They are usually made of durable materials such as rope or chain. Normally, chains are worked as bottom chains to be connected with anchors by shackles, and fiber rope assembly is in the upper as floating mooring line.

We cooperated with the fish farmer who is breeding tuna, sea bream, sea bass and other fish species in Mediterranean, and we regular supply them mooring anchor, chains, mooring ropes, shackles, thimbles and other connection hardware for their ocean farm use.

In this project, we produced and delivered 1000kg plough anchors as seabed mooring, and Dia.42mm and Dia.30mm black open link chain as mooring chain, also together with omega shackles, master links and tubular thimbles for connection.
